No Go Zones

Together with Energy Safe Victoria, WorkSafe Victoria, other industry bodies, CitiPower and Powercor support the No Go Zone initiative.

The No Go Zone initiative was designed to provide a safe working environment for all Victorians. It prescribes approach limits and controls for equipment being used around overhead electricity lines by people without qualifications in electricity related areas. It also specifies the minimum distances that members of the public are able to work near overhead and underground electrical infrastructure.

No Go Zones apply to equipment such as cranes, excavators, concrete pumpers, elevated work platforms including scissor lifts, and scaffolding. You can get general information on this topic by searching for "No Go Zones" on the Energy Safe Victoria website.

Before you start any work in the vicinity of our overhead or underground network, you must gain a Permit to Work from CitiPower or Powercor. This will only be issued after one of our representatives has assessed your work site. Charges may apply depending on the actions we must take to ensure safety.
