What is eighthgate?    

eighthgate is CitiPower and Powercor's innovation initiative. It is a conduit for unlocking and fostering innovative thinking, and converting that thinking into wealth for our business.

eighthgate sets our business aside from others in the industry. It ensures our future by attracting and energising the best people. It is centred on results that are valued by our customers, stakeholders, shareholders and employees.  It is also focused on attracting innovative solutions.

The Intranet Website that tracks our innovation portfolio, builds on the concepts through collaboration, and is managed by a panel of experts and mentors.

The Business Innovation Cup

A competition based around individuals and teams developing significant business opportunities. The cup aims to build entrepreneurial skills and to source more innovation.

Masters Level Business Mentors

A group of business coaches that understand our business strategy and motivation.  The group has Masters Level qualifications in Entrepreneurial and Innovation theory and practice.  The group works with teams and ideas within the business.

$1 million Seed Fund

A seed fund aimed at developing and planning new ventures that show promise.

Acceler8

A commercial accelerator that fast-tracks projects with significant commercial prospects.

Regular activities based around generating interest, raising awareness and educating people in innovation.
