Anyone who uses tall machinery such as cranes and augers, drives high vehicles, or raises equipment such as irrigation pipes overhead needs to take the time to focus on what is above as well as what is to be achieved.

Be aware that overhead powerlines are often nearby. If you are working near powerlines, have someone with you to monitor your and other people’s safety, and take the time to focus on what is above you.

Recreational activities such as sailing sound exciting and fun, and usually are. But if you raise a mast near powerlines it could turn deadly. Flying a kite or model plane and climbing trees can also become a hazard around power lines.
