Network Tariffs

Network tariffs are charged on a continuous basis for supplying electricity and maintaining the network of poles, wires and other equipment that distribute power to customers' premises. An electricity retailer sells you electricity and sends you electricity bills. Your retailer pays Powercor directly for distributing electricity to your premises.

The price - or the network tariff - that we charge to distribute electricity to your premises is a fraction of the amount that appears on the electricity bill issued by your retailer. The remainder of your bill is the cost your retailer charges for the actual electricity you use. This price is determined by retailers and the government under Full Retail Competition (FRC).

Network tariffs comprise two separate charges: a transmission tariff, which is paid to SP AusNet when electricity is delivered via its high-voltage network, and a distribution tariff, when it is delivered via Powercor's network. The network tariff represents the sum of the transmission and distribution tariffs.

The pages below contain more information about Powercor's network tariffs.
