Metering Technology Trials - Select Customers

As a prelude to the roll out of Advanced Interval Metering scheduled to start in 2008, a number of technology trials are being conducted across Victoria to identify the best available communications technologies.
CitiPower and Powercor will be involved in trialing 4 different technologies. Each trial will involve approximately 500 sites (2,000 in all) with selected customers' current billing meter either being replaced, or an additional meter installed alongside their current billing meter.
Customers who are selected to participate in the trials will receive:
- A letter and FAQ sheet from the Department of Primary Industries
- A letter from either CitiPower or Powercor
- A planned outage notification, at least 4 days in advance (as the meter exchange will cause a brief interruption to your supply)
- A Guide on How to Read Your Meter
The trials are expected to commence in March 2007.
