CitiPower and Powercor Thank Customers for Their Patience

CitiPower and Powercor offer sincere thanks to all customers affected by Wednesday's power outages, for their patience as crews continue to work restoring supply.

Restoration efforts continue today - at 5 pm, there were some 400 CitiPower customers and 390 Powercor Customers still off supply. The damaging winds, rain and lightning brought about by Wednesday's storm front interrupted supply to around 100,000 Powercor customers and 50,000 CitiPower customers altogether.

Many of Wednesday's faults were related to trees and debris making contact with conductors, and power lines and poles brought to ground - crews are working to clear the backlog of remaining faults with a view to restoring power later this afternoon and in some cases, into the evening.
