How to Track

Our notification services keep you informed about power outages in your area and any planned works that may interrupt your supply.

There are a couple of simple ways to track power interruptions in your area.

  1. Register for SMS alerts and email notifications

You can receive text message alerts about any power outages and reminders about planned critical works in your area that may involve an interruption to the power supply.

We receive mobile phone details from electricity retailers when new accounts are opened.

However, to make sure your details are up to date and to also get the option of email notifications, you can register directly at our Self Service Portal.

Through this portal you can add additional properties, choose your preferred way to get notifications and if there are any times you don’t want to be disturbed (we typically won’t send messages after 11.00pm at night).

You will need the National Meter Identifier (NMI) for your property to register.  This is a 10 or 11 digit number found on the bill received from your electricity retailer.

  1. Download our Outages app

Our easy to reference app is available through the App Store or Google Play and can be used by smartphones and tablets.  The app:

  • provides our outage map showing the location of current outages
  • allows you to search by location or postcode
  • provides information on the cause of outages and the estimated time power will be restored
  • enables you to report faulty streetlights
