Major customer resources

This is the main point of contact for major customers, handling everything from day-to-day performance to longer-term energy needs.

HV customer obligations

High voltage (HV) customers have additional obligations compliant with The Blue Book and section 9 of the Victorian Electricity Distributors Service and Installation Rules.

These include, but are not limited to:

  • Operation and maintenance as per the SIR.
  • HV customer to manage their own HV operators or a nominated HV operating company for the site. Site operators to be authorised and trained by an accredited organisation.
  • There should be a HV responsible person for the site (24/7 contact).
  • Site to comply with Blue Book requirements.
  • HV customer to develop and maintain up to date HV safety and operating procedures.
  • Maintain HV substations in good order and ensure any malfunction should not create a hazard or interference to United Energy’s distribution network.
  • Submit an application for approval associated with any changes/modifications to the site HV reticulation.
  • Advise CitiPower and Powercor of any transfer of ownership of site.
  • Provide CitiPower and Powercor with information requested in relation to the site HV reticulation. For example:
    • Protection settings
    • SLD
    • CT ratios
    • HV Authorised Contact List

You can download the latest version of The Blue Book via the Energy Safe Victoria website (opens external site in a new window)

Applying for or upgrading a HV connection

If your site needs more electricity than what is considered standard on our network, we’ll need to assess our assets before you can connect. This is to ensure we can safely and reliably supply the electricity you need.

To apply for a new HV connection or to upgrade an exisiting one you can visit our connections page. Here you'll find information on:

  • Requesting a preliminary enquiry for a HV connect, for example:
    • a budgeting quotation
    • options for a new connection
    • options for a modification to an existing connection.
  • Requesting a new HV connection
  • Requesting an alteration to an existing HV connection.

In most cases, you will need to submit your request through mySupply. Once we have received your application, we’ll:

  • Validate all supporting documentation and information.
  • Make sure you can connect via your preferred method (overhead or underground).
  • Check the phasing and capacity of our assets that would supply the site.
  • Undertake a voltage assessment to ensure a reliable supply of electricity.

Once we have completed these checks, we’ll provide you with a formal supply capacity offer and contact you if further information is required.

If the existing overhead or underground infrastructure can’t support the new or modified connection, we may need to upgrade or extend the electricity network. If this is the case, we’ll provide you with an offer for this work.

HV isolation request

If you need to isolate a high voltage (HV) line connection you'll need to fill out the HV isolation request form.

This form is to be used when the HV power supply needs to be isolated so electrical work can be carried out safely.

Important things to know before you start

  • We require a minimum of six weeks’ notice to be able to fulfill your request
  • We'll accept long lead time applications up to six months in advance
  • Payment must be made before the isolation date
  • We'll need a detailed description of works
  • Requested dates are subject to network availability

Once submitted, you will receive a confirmation email within five business days.

If you're having trouble completing this form, please contact our Customer Requests team on 1800 771 434 or email cru@powercor.com.au.

Reserve feeder requests

A reserve feeder request is a formal application submitted to CitiPower or Powercor to provide a secondary, redundant power line (feeder) to a facility.

This dual-feed setup ensures that if the primary power line suffers an outage or undergoes maintenance, the critical load can immediately switch to the reserve feeder to maintain uninterrupted operations.

For more information on requesting a reserve feeder please contact us using the email addresses below.

Planned outage coordination

We are often required to do maintenance work on our network to ensure the continuation of safe a relibale electricity supplies.

For major customers our team will work with you to coordinate these outages to ensure minimal disruption to your power.

Our team will reach out and provide more information if we a planned outage needs to happen.

Network Visualisation Portal

This geographical map contains multiple layers of information about the location of our distribution network assets and opportunities to support the network. These layers provide:

  • constraints on sub-transmission lines, zone substations and high voltage feeders, which are opportunities for demand management
  • high voltage network maps illustrating the locations of the sub-transmission network, zone substations and high voltage feeders
  • load trace data for zone substations
  • network boundaries relative to Local Government Areas and postcodes.
