1. Select your country/region. Some manufacturers may have this pre-selected. 2. Select the AS/NZS 4777.2:2020 Australia A setting. The naming of zones may differ between manufacturers but may appear as: Australia A – applies to the configuration of inverter settings in Victoria and all Eastern Australia. 3. Turn on the device.
Using the default function on your installer app:
The Australia A setting is a mandatory requirement for all solar installations and is important to make sure customers export to the levels approved, new solar customers have a fair and equal opportunity to export too, and voltage issues on the network are prevented.
Full details about the voltage and power quality settings can be found in the Appendix of the Model Standing Offer (MSO). This is our contract with solar customers and sets out the conditions for the system installed. If we detect solar systems that are not operating in line with the MSO conditions, then we may require that it be disconnected until it is set up to comply.
The Solar Homes Program and Solar for Business Program requires the installation of inverters that meet Australian Standards and also have the power quality functions volt-watt and volt-var.
