Media Statement: AEMO load shedding

CitiPower and Powercor has been directed by the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) to begin load shedding electricity across our networks to reduce the risk of extended wide-spread blackouts.

We are directed to shed load when demand on the electricity grid is greater than the amount of electricity supply that is available.

This is not associated with localised network outages.

Our control room is now conducting outages on a rotational basis.

We will restore power to customer when directed by AEMO.
