Powercor crews are working to restore power to just over 1000 customers impacted by yesterday’s extreme weather.
This was one of the largest events we’ve experienced on the Powercor network and at peak there were more than 80,000 homes and businesses off supply.
Extra crews worked throughout the night and are on the ground today repairing damaged powerlines and other assets.
At this stage, there are about 531 customers off supply in Geelong and a further 465 customers in Kyneton.
From 8am yesterday, there were more than 500 faults reported in Victoria’s west. This included 23 trees over powerlines.
Thank you to all affected customers for their understanding and patience as our crews worked to restore power safely and as quickly as possible.
The volume of faults from this extreme weather has meant restoration times are longer than usual for some customers and we want to assure customers we are doing everything possible to get power back on.
