Our response to the AER’s draft decisionOur response to the AER’s draft decision

We have received the Australian Energy Regulator’s draft decision on our 2026–31 regulatory proposals for the CitiPower and Powercor networks and are now reviewing the feedback.

Our draft plans were shaped by extensive engagement with more than 9,400 customers and stakeholders. They told us they wanted a stronger, more resilient electricity network that can better withstand extreme weather and support Victoria’s energy transition.

We believe our draft proposals struck the right balance – delivering targeted investments to maintain reliability and safety in a changing climate, while keeping costs low for our customers.

Key initiatives such as rural SWER upgrades, backup supplies in bushfire-risk areas, more weather-resilient infrastructure, and network enhancements to support growing solar and electric vehicle uptake were designed to deliver real, long-term benefits for communities.

While the draft decision endorses important elements of our plan, such as critical infrastructure upgrades in major growth corridors, it does not support several initiatives our customers identified as priorities.

As Victoria’s energy system transforms and climate impacts intensify, our focus remains on delivering the reliability and safety our communities depend on while ensuring our investments are prudent and efficient.

We will continue working with the AER, customers and stakeholders to ensure the revised proposals reflect the regulator’s feedback and our customer’s priorities.

We will continue engaging with stakeholders as we prepare our revised proposals, which will be submitted to the AER in early December 2025. The AER’s final determination is expected in April 2026.
