Power pole and line upgrade works in Melton South

Road closures and traffic changes: late-May – mid August 2026

We’re carrying out essential works on the electricity network to help keep power safe and reliable for the Melton South and surrounding community, while also supporting growing demand in the area.

Works

Upgrade works will include:

Replacement of power poles and powerlines
Some minor underground works on High Street

To allow our crews to complete these works safely, road closures and traffic changes will occur on:

Ferris Road
Western Freeway
Melton Highway
High Street

When

Works will be carried out intermittently from Monday 25 May 2026 until mid‑August 2026.

Traffic impacts

Most works will take place during the day using lane closures and stop/slow traffic management. Local access to businesses will be maintained where possible.

Some works will occur overnight under full road closures. During these times, local access will not be maintained.

We’ll use this webpage to keep the community up-to-date on road closures and traffic changes.

What to expect

Traffic management will guide vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians safely around work areas
Some power outages may occur (affected customers will be directly notified)
Increased noise and vehicle activity in the area
Some works may take longer or be rescheduled due to weather or other factors
Some works will be noisy
