We’re improving the way we keep you informed during unplanned power outages. Following a successful trial in the CitiPower network, we’re enhancing our outage notification service for all Powercor customers too – so you’ll have more information, when you need it most.

About the upgrade

This is an enhancement to our existing notification service for unplanned outages. When a power outage affects your property, we’ll send you a personalised link to a live outage map showing detailed information about what’s happening.

The upgraded service operates Monday to Friday, from 7am to 9pm. It does not operate during large-scale outages, such as those caused by extreme weather events.

Features:

  • Real-time updates: get the latest information on the repair crew’s estimated arrival time, fault location, and estimated power restoration time.
  • Personalised notifications: receive a text message (or email) with a link to a map showing the outage details specific to your home or business.
  • Greater transparency: stay informed about the progress of repairs and know when your power is expected to be back on.

How it works

  1. When an unplanned outage occurs and a repair crew is dispatched, you’ll receive a notification with a link to your personalised outage map.
  2. The map will show you the crew’s estimated arrival time, the fault location, and the estimated power restoration time.
  3. The map updates automatically, so you always have the latest information.

You will still receive all other notifications we send during unplanned outages (such as updated power restoration times and confirmation when the power has been restored).
